Vein Therapy

Back of knee

Vascular Therapy for the face and body.

Facial Veins can be treated with the use of 2 different types of laser light. The Limelight can effectively treat the tiny vessels on the face or neck that become visible from past sun damage or from rosacea. Please refer to the Limelight section for more details. Larger facial veins can be effectively treated using the Nd:Yag laser.

Cutera’s CoolGlide Nd:Yag 1064nm effectively treats veins that vary in size, from the smaller facial spider veins to the deeper reticular veins of the legs. With truly independent control of the pulse width, spot size and power, the Cutera system can target a wider range of vessels than other systems, including competitive 1064nm wavelengths.

How does it work?

Pulses of light energy are delivered and causes the blood within the vein to coagulate (clot), eventually destroying the vessel which is later reabsorbed by your body. Patients with dark, light or tanned skin can experience outstanding results with minimal side effects.

How many treatments will I need?

Often, patients find that one or two treatments are sufficient. Individual results will vary depending on the number, color, and size of vessels being treated.

How long will it take to see the results?

Most will see significant improvement within two to six weeks. The larger vessels of the legs can take longer. Blood blisters (hemangiomas) and small blood spots (cherry angiomas) respond very well, usually with just one treatment.
